Dog Hat Buying Tips

If you intent to buy a hat for your dog, here's a list of tips that could help in selecting the most suitable hat for your dog pet:

1. Dog hat's Size – usually you can buy a dog hat in 5 sizes (X-Small, Small, Medium, Large and X-Large). To select the most proper size, you'll have to measure your length of head. Usually, a dog hat with X-Small size fits a dog with length of head (8" - 10") and width of head (3" - 4"), the Small size fits a dog with length of head (10" - 12") and width of head (4" - 5"), the Medium size fits a dog with length of head (10" - 12") and width of head (5" - 6"), the Large size fits a dog with length of head (15" - 17") and width of head (6" - 7") and the X-Large size fits a dog with length of head (18"-20") and width of head (7" - 8") .

Note: To measure your dog's length of head, you'll have to measure the distance between 1/2 " above dog's brow and back of the head.

To measure your dog's width of head, you'll have to measure the distance between upper parts of the dog's ears.

2. Check the material that the dog hat is made of – some synthetic materials may be harmful for the hair of your dog. It's recommended for your dog's hat to be made of 100% cotton.

3. Select Proper Design and Type of the hat – it's very important your dog to feel comfortable while wearing its dog hat, so before buying a hat for him/her, check out if the design and the type of the hat is suitable for your dog.

4. The color of the hat – if you buy a dog hat for protection against the sun, it's recommended it to be colored in lighter color, because these colors accumulates less sun shines than the dark colors.
