Parrots are so popular pets that you can hear many myths about them. Here's the part II of popular myths about the parrot birds.

Parrot needs less attention by their owners than cats and dogs

It's totally wrong statement. The parrots need much more time than cats and even dogs. But the good news is that if you situate their cages in the living, it's enough for the parrot to think that people notice them.

Parrot is a tropical bird

Many parrots live in the Tropics, but you can see parrot birds in other temperature zones, even in above the snow line in the foothills of the Himalayas and the Andes.

Parrot can live well together with other animals

Some parrot mix well with other pets, but most of the parrots wouldn't like other pet company. Even more, different parrot species couldn't live together because every parrot's specie has their own body language and could understand other specie language. Don't forget that together living of different parrot species is very risky for them.

Parrot eats only seeds

The seeds are the parrot's favorite food, but if you want your parrot to live long and to be healthy it should eat and other foods, for example vegetables and fresh fruits. Same as the humans, parrots need variety in their food.

Parrot can live over a hundred years

The parrot's life depends on its specie. For example, the Macaws parrots live 80 years. Most of the parrots live between 40 and 70 years. If you care properly for your parrot bird, it could reach life duration twice as long as if it was living in the wild nature.
